Here at Davis AutoSports, we strive to offer the finest Tacoma trucks and in doing so, we bring our true restoration services to each truck we sell. This Tacoma did have the typical thin clear coat on the roof, hood, and top of fenders which is a problem with a majority of Tacoma and Tundra trucks from this area. We usually just paint the needed panels but since this truck was so nice with such low miles, we decided to repaint the entire truck to make this truck as new as possible. With that weak link being taken care of and just 86k perfectly serviced miles, this truck will surely look and drive like a brand new truck with years and year of ownership. Below you will see our inspection of the truck, results and the services and parts we will be installing on the truck.

DAVIS AUTOSPORTS FULL REPAINT :
This Tacoma as mentioned above had some areas of thinking clear coat we in true DAS fashion we decided to make this truck perfect. To be very clear, there was ZERO body damage prior to our paint and body work, all panels are 100% original factory OEM panels. We stripped down this Tacoma to metal and started from step one with etch primer, 2K primer, sealer, 2 coats base coat, and 3 coats of clear coat. When we paint our vehicles, all handles, locks, trim, windows, panels are removed so there are minimal tape lines. This is a very time consuming method but the end result speaks for itself. We also painted all the door handles, mirror housings, belt moldings, and more. In addition to the ENTIRE exterior being painted, we spent 4 day wet sanding and buffing the new paint for a perfectly flat top clear coat layer and mirror finish. When each coat of primer is applied, we then block ( sand to a perfect flat surface) then apply a 2nd coat of primer and repeat. Please note, all panels are painted off the Truck for a perfect finish
Exterior Condition
The Exterior of this Tacoma will in Brand New Condition once we are completed. In addition to the new paint, we will also install brand new chrome bumpers to complete the exterior restore. We will also sand down and refinish the factory wheels with primer, base coat and clear coat. This Tacoma will literally look like it did when it left the factory back in 2004 exterior wise. The truck is sitting on a newer set of 265/75/16 which will remain on Tacoma. The rear bed will have a drop in Bedliner as well.
Interior Condition
The Interior of this Tacoma is in Exceptional Condition for the year and miles!! The Tan Cloth Seats are as classy as they get! All dash areas and door panels are Extremely Clean as you will see in the photos and show little to No wear!! This vehicle has ZERO smoke odor or signs of ever being a smoked in!! This Tacoma HAS AC and it blows ICE Cold!!
Week 1-3
We Started Our Paint and Body Process by removing all bumpers, flares, trim, handles, etc to began the sanding and body work. The truck will get sanded down to bare metal which is the correct way to but often not done while repainting a vehicle. Its a much longer process but the paint will last years to come. During this time, all dents and imperfections will be addressed.
Week 3-4
Once all the body work was performed, we now coated the entire truck with primer for the initial blocking and sanding for the beginning process to achieving a perfectly flat surface for the base color.
Week 5-7
After the initial primer and first block has taken place, we then applied a second coat of primer and guide coat (black spray powder) for a perfectly flat and smooth surface, this step is then repeated for a second time. These weeks and weeks or labor is the difference between your run of the mill paint job and a premium paint job. This paint will last 20 years.
Week 8-12
After the truck is 100% ready for its fist base coat, we will actually spray a sealer coat which seals everything followed by 2 coats of factory green and then 2 coats of clear coat. Once the panels are cured, we will follow with a full 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 Grit Wet Sand, compound, buff, polish and seal for a perfect finish. The wheels will then get refinished and new Bumpers installed.
Week 13-14
Once the truck is assembled with all the panels back on, we refinished the flares with fresh black paint, installed new front and rear bumpers, new headlights, grill, and all the exterior moldings and trim. We installed a bedliner for the customer. After all of our build we test and drive the truck for 200 miles to ensure the customer receives the truck in proper working order. Goes in for a final detail and off to the customer.
Week 15
